Is this Camera anygood?

Hey i'm looking into getting into photography. Ive seen this camera

CANON Rebel XT/ EOS 350D SLR DIGITAL CAMERA and you also get a 4GB memory card and a 18-55MM LENS for 330 pounds

Is this a decent camera for a noob like me

if this is off an auction site, which I think it is then watch out as it isn't brand new

350d is discontinued and replaced with the 400d, so a second hand one is your only choice. That is unless you can find somewhere with very old stock. But a 4gb card, i doubt you could beat it- good camera too.

I would get the 400D, a 4G card doesnt worth as much as you think, you can get a 2G sandisk (genuine) for under £40, so a non-brand one could be peanuts. t

you can buy a 4Gb CF card for £18 - it'll be slow though.
Canon have a rebate scheme on at the moment so you can probably buy a 400D & kit lens for not much more.

You can get 4gig Extreme 3's for £39 now. Bargain!! I still remember paying £200 for a 1gig'er a few years back (and it was in a sale lol).

Sounds like a fairly good deal to me though...

You can get a 4gb Extreme IV for £50!

Was gonna buy one then realised my 2GB III does me fine!

Yep, got a 4gig Extreme III delivered from OcUK yeseterday, and because it's from OcUK I trust it to be genuine Sandisk :cool:

Memory card prices are so good these day though. Which is a good thing given the that files from camera's are only getting bigger and bigger! As Fstop11 said though, shame its not the same for computer memory!!

Say these cameras were all about the same price for the body and lens kit, which is better?

Canon 350D
Nikon D40
Nikon D50

I know theres always big things about nikon vs canon but beside personal preferance is there much difference between them if they were the same price as Ive seen a few 350D and D40 for £300 2nd hand.

out of those 350D is technically best cam, and offers more features for money if there all same price
