I'm building a new PC and want an experts opinion on this case to know if it will be ok for my system as I'm fairly new to building PC's.

Here are the specs..

A Raidmax Ninja Case with Raidmax 500watts PS2 ATX12V Power Supply
ABIT AN8-SLI nForce4 Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 3000 Venice
Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro CPU Cooler
Sapphire ATI Radeon X800 GTO2
GEIL 512MB x2 PC3200 Dual Memory
Seagate 180 GB HDD
Pioneer 110D DVD Writer

I will be using this mostly for gaming (Prey, Halif Life 2). Will this be enough and is the power supply ok for this kind of system?

Thanks in advance :)

hi mate i am no expert but i used to have a raid max and found it very thick it seemed to retain the heat a hell of a lot and i swapped out the psu

for the price of that raid max i have seen it for around 65 quid it might be worth paying a little extra for the Antec Sonata II Piano Black Quiet Case - 450W Smart Power PSU (77quid) from ocuk

im sure the psu will be better and the case will be aswell

How much are you paying for that case? I know somebody who has it, and to be honest, i think its ghastly :p For a case that wide you would expect 120mm fans, but they just put 4x 80mm intakes :/

Take a look at something like a LianLi PC7, Antec Super Lanboy, ThermalTake Soprano. The Antec Sonata would be the one to go for with the powersupply already fitted.

The power supply thats in the Raidmax case, afaik, is generic

Thanks guys. The case has 2 big fans, one at the front and one at the back and a small fan on the side panel. It's £60 to buy and I like the look of it, it has all the features I need aswell. I don't like the plain ugly ones :P I will have a look at those cases you mentioned though. I thought Raidmax were pretty good. Thanks.

Oops, maybe the case i saw was an old model. If you like the gamer style looking ones, the Antec Super Lanboy and the Thermaltake Soprano should be more suited. They're both the better cases over the Raidmax :)

i dont think you should be going on looks to much mate

no point having a nice looking gaming case that retains the heat like a furniss and you cant play your games right or end up spending pounds more on cooling solutions

also i doubt that psu is giving true power prob equal to something like a 350w proper psu so if it aint enough to power your card and stuff your gonna have to shell out another 50 quid for a decent psu

beleive me i learnt the hard way

You need a solid PSU, if its not a big brand name, don't risk your PC blowing up on one.

Raidmax are not known for build quality, you would be MUCH better of going for the Antec Sonata II as a generic PSU is right on the limits of what it will boot up, and would probably be high unstable while playing games.

The PSU decides if your PC is stable or not, it is the single most important part in a modern PC and your wanting to trust one in a bundle thats not from a well known brand, BAD idea.

If you want the best gaming combo possible, Antec Super Lanboy (best gaming case in my opinion) and a Tagan 400w+ Easycon PSU. ENough power for anything stable and a nice Lan case to boot! Will be only slightly more than the Raidmax but will most likely cool better, not had chance to use that Raidmax though but going on what they call cooling I would not expect much.

Get the Antec Sonata with the 450W PSU. Its a great combo at a great price. If you feel brave and want a little more, push for the Antec P150 (Love it!).

The raidmax is just horrible.
