Is this chip a G0

I don't think it is, but I've not been up on steppings since the heady days of the Athlon XP so I'd apreciate a check by someone who knows what they are talking about

Am I right in thinking it should say SLACR on it

yea my G0 had SLACR on it so as an assumption i'd say its not :S

It's not a SLACR because it's an ES chip but it is a B3.

Well it's an engineering sample, so it's pretty hard to tell from just looking at the CPU.

Is it a Q6600? From looking at the Quadcore Database my old one is the only L6** Q6600 on it (L640), and it's also the only B3 on it. All the G0's listed are L7** chips.

excellent, I thought it needed to say SLACR. I havnt bought it, I'm just looking for a second hand q6600 for a mate, but this is only slightly cheaper than a bunch that are definitely g0 so I think we'll just pay a fiver more and get a good clocker.
