I just ordered this and forgot to check if its compatible with my memory

Gigabyte Z77-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard [GA-Z77-D3H]

and my memory is

Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX)

will this work ok ?

Great thank you :D

oh would anyone know what BIOS version would be shipped with the board ? i will it just be random and no way of knowing ?

Couldn't tell you for definite.

Just go straight to gigabytes website, download latest unzip to external usb and get that bad boy updated as soon as you get it. just to be sure ^^

I know sometimes you need to do a bios update to get memory to work, i had to do it with the system i am using now, but if i need to do this with my new system, will i be able to get into the bios without using memory (if the memory didnt work from start)

just looked at the support page for this board, there is only one BIOS available, board has to come with that then surly ?

Dont call me shirley! lol

i woudnt count on it. memory should be fine tbh. main problem with that board was the compatibility wiht the graphics cards which was fixed with that bios update.

That is the latest BIOS. they have removed the earlier ones as i think there were some issues with them causing problems. The BIOS on your board will probably need updating to F18.

When you boot go into the BIOS and it will tell you which BIOS version is installed.

I'm also assuming your currently on another pc typing on the forum? or hve access to another pc. could get usb key and bios update ready for when you install the mboard. then just jump striahgt into bios and update.

I am have ordered all the parts for new PC and giving this one to my daughter :P

i guess i could pop it on a usb stick
