Is this correct mem speed?

just checking pc on CPU-Z and i was looking at the memory speeds, and i'm certain that its wrong

running 1 gig ddr2 4200 generic ram

running frequency = 245.6 MHz

now if i understand this correctly, that should be 266/7 MHz to be running at 533Mhz ddr ?

what could be causing my ram to be running slower ??

20mhz won't make any difference.

Is your FSB at 266mhz?

nope FSB is running at 200MHz, multiplyer at 11 = 2.2 GHz which is stock speed for the 3500+ i'm running

Sounds like your RAM divider is on 4:5 or thereabouts.

And again, the 20mhz will make no difference.

ok thanks for the info, not really sure what the ram divider is and how to change it though

I think it's due to the different algorithm AM2 processors use to calculate the mem speed.

Have a look at this:

Pay particular attention to the frequency table.
