Is this correct PCIE speed?

is this correct i have just noticed my 4870 is running at 8X PCIE 2.0 ? i thought it should be 16X?

i have the card in the top PCIE slot on mobo im sure its the correct slot

It should be running at 16x, is there any options in the BIOS to change the speed of your PCI-E slot.

looked in the bios cant see anything to alter PCIE? this is strange can anybody help me with this please

ive just thought i have recently installed a PCIE Soundcard would this effect my 4870 ? as i know crossfire halves the pcie speed?

yes its correct speed u have p5q it has pci-e 1.1 x16 is the same as pci-2.0 x8

should have both x38 motherboard

hi i have just taken out my PCIE Soundcard (Asus DX Xonar) and the pcie is now back to 16 X im i losing perfomance with my PCIE soundcard in is the pc thinking i have crossfire ?

My mobo supports PCIE 2.0 X16 its not PCIE 1.1 by default

Ran my 8800gts at x8 for a short period and that definately took a hit but not sure if its the same for ati cards.
