Can anyone tell me if this Samsung RAM is suitable for use in a home desktop PC or if it is server/buffered RAM? I've Googled for '397415 B21' and it's difficult to tell either way. Does the 'B' in B21 refer to buffered?

Ta for any info. :)

Looks fully buffered to me.

Can you please provide the full line reading something like 1GB 2R... etc. It's the line to the right of the Samsung logo. Picture is too blurry for me to see it.

The only RAM I've seen with metal heat spreaders like those is ECC. Looks identical to the stuff in my server/workstation.

Cheers folks. It's actually on that well known auction site for sale at the mo' so this is the only pic I have of it. Was tempted to bid on it and stick it in the spare desktop the wife uses for Word Processing etc. So looks like server only stuff then? Seller hasn't mentioned that detail in his description, just that it is PC5300 DDR2. I've messaged them but they haven't responded.

Had a change of plan now after thinking about it. Going to see if I can pick up a set of 4x 2GB DDR2 6400 or 8500 which will give me 8GB in my system and hopefully help make things zip along a little bit faster. The current 4x1GB, 4GB total DDR2 PC6400 I've got in the system just now will be coming out and going into the wife's PC which currently has 2GB fitted. That way I'm upgrading my own system and giving her system a 'free' upgrade as well.
