Is this enough for crossfire?

not according to the manual... you need a 550W minimum with 38A on the 12V rails... if it was a Corsair HX520 i'd say maybe, but as it is, i wouldn't be so sure...

frankly, i'm not so sure my Hiper will be able to handle the strain... and given the PSU's track record on reliability...

lame, i was really hoping i wouldnt have to buy a new power supply. :( oh and how do you find out how many A are on the 12v rails?

does this mean it has 19A or do you add up the 3? if so does it have enough? and yeh either way i guess i might as well try it out first, it couldnt blow it up could it??

you add the three... it does have enough A, but not enough watts, according to the manual...

No you don't.

408/12 = 34A

3 x 19 = 57A

Which do you think?

Not quite sure where to start with the A and watts bit, you can't have one without the other, Watts W = V x A.
They specify both, assuming a 550W psu should have enough. Its kinda meaningless tbh. Stick to the combined 12v current.
34A is pretty good, should be ok with 2x 3870 unless you have a uber OC cpu and loads of bits running in there.

im confused, are you saying that it will be okay, or not? and the rest of my system is an e2180 at 3.2ghz running on a p5k, 2x2gig ram, 1 sata hdd and a couple of fans.
