So I was looking on a popular bookstore and saw this:

I'm not going mad here am I? That's a 150w PCI-E adapter that draws it's (up to) 12+ amps of power from a pair of SATA connectors (which most people would attach to two connectors on the same cable), this isn't an adaptor, it's an incendiary device, how can any company sell this in good faith? O.o
 
Sounds ok to me or am I missing something .Wouldn't the draw be from the same rail?
Well, yes, but it would also be drawing significantly more power over the SATA connectors than they were ever designed for. They were intended for connecting hard drives, not as substitutes for Molex connectors.
