Is this for real?

It's probably fake, but there's no reason you couldn't do it, it'd be pretty simple. You could make a paintball version easily.

the machine gun would be to heavy for it to fly with it only being that big, it would probably ruin the centre of mavity making it fairly unstable aswell

It would be fair from simple, the weight of the gun would pose problems for a start and the recoil would send it all over the place. Do you know how tightly a human has to hold a powerful gun when shooting to control that recoil, in the air it would just send the quadrotor spinning.

Not sure if feasible with a paint ball gun but you couldn't do it with a real one.

With the gun slung beneath the copter, some clever programming to re-stabilize quickly and a low calibre, buffered (can't think of the word) gun it's be doable imo. You'd probably have to have a low fire rate, something like a round per second.

Obviously you'd need a copter capable of taking the weight, all I said was that it is doable. But as neither of us are experts in the field we can't really say for sure.

we arent? I fly RC helis that have could decapitate a man but it still would probably barely get off the ground even with a small handgun attached to it and quadcopters dont have anywhere near the headspeed or lift of an rc heli.

No, you are not an expert in helicopter (and certainly quadcopter) dynamics, you just are able to operate the controls of one.

@arknor
What do you fly?

I've got a HK450 GT, which I built myself with a flybarless conversion and Tarot ZYXs stabilisation.
I also have a Blade 300x and a Nano cpx.

Multi rotor designs are much more stable than single rotor designs, with modern gyros. They can also lift far more than any single rotor heli will be able to.
They are perfect for aerial photography, or a weapons platform!

would be pretty hard to cover the weight needed to counter the recoil

Gyro counter balances used in helicopters are pretty big. I realise that gun isn't a M249 but it would still be pretty difficult to fly something whilst firing. Even if you limited it to 2-3 shot bursts Accuracy couldn't be guaranteed. Possible maybe, simple definitely not.
