when ever i switch the gfs pc on, the monitor is off set to the right & i have to go into the control panel to readjust it.

its an older nvidia 128 fx5900 & the monitors a sony 19" tft.

ive checked all the connections & have cleaned the gfx fan just in case it was overheating.

i was thinking that the cards on the way out but just checking with folks here if theyve any other ideas before i change the card ?

cheers

Sounds more like the a setting mismatch than a failing card.

When the system boots the monitor locks onto the signal and it's offset on the screen so you keep having to compensate.

Check the drivers are all fine, Mainboard and GFX and see if you can download the .inf file for the monitor to ensure it's recognised.

If the GFX and the monitor have DVI connections then get a DVI cable
