Hi all

i am after a bit of advice. I need a computer to do some photo editing but would also like it to be able to play a few games like left for dead and dead island.
Have got my eyes on a second hand xps15 l502x with this spec

Intel i7-2670QM
6GB Ram
120GB Micron C400 SSD
1080P B+RGLED Display
nVidia GT540M 2GB
8x Blu-Ray / DVD-RW

Will it do what i want it to do,

Cheers.

Left 4 dead will run on practically everything!! I was maxing it on my old alienware on a GT 555m! I purposely upgrade from the GT 540M as its VERY low spec card. the GT 555m was at least mid range. in fact, left for dead used to run on my GT 130m lenovo!!

If you're doing photo editing, Will 120gb be enough? Surely you need space for the images?

2.2ghz CPU? You'll be fine. i've been using my 2.1Ghz alienware for 3 years with no issue! Although i love my new 2.5ghz!

How much you being quoted for it?

Thanks for the reply, i was going to change the ssd for a 480gb, it was really the general spec as i know nothing about laptop components.

Its up for £395 inc delivery.

XPS 15 am I right? At that price it looks a steal. I've had my head in so many laptop reviews the past few days and although XPS' (mostly older versions) seem to have a few kinks that aren't huge but may put some people off, I only seem to hear good things about them really.

Every forum tends to recommend an XPS, or has someone crop up and say "My XPS has been a complete workhorse". :)

Where as Zenbooks, Yoga's, Vaio Pros etc all tend to have some pretty mixed reviews with major faults in some. Hopefully makes you feel a little more confident! Plus it's an i7 with an SSD, OVER 4gb ram (most higher end laptops still only come with 4) and independent graphics under £400, win.
