is this how fps is now ?

its okay to say you like it but i dont ? :confused:

this thread is about the current state of fps gaming bf3 is a prime eg of why it is pretty dire at the moment.

unreal , quake 3 , cs , cod 4 , bf2

they are fps games.

would you or any others not like a return or a more thoughtful approach to fps ?

or would you rather just put up with console games being made for you even though you have a powerful pc .
 
The thing that makes me laugh about this type of view is that most people will just buy the latest hyped up shooter just because it's the latest 'big thing', regardless of how good a game it is both in terms of quality of gameplay, and how well finished it is. They'll then have a good old moan about how rubbish it is.

Guess what, publishers are businesses, and businesses are run to make money. If people are going to drop their cash on any old rubbish with a good marketing campaign, then publishers will continue to produce any old rubbish, and put loads of effort into the marketing.

I actually think that to an extent FPS games only have so much development left in them. I play Quake Live for fast paced, futuristic fantasy style action, and BC2 for a military style shooter. I don't think I need much more than that. It's just a shame that DICE no longer support BC2, so no new maps etc.
