Ive been looking at the following gaming laptop for a while now. Im not 100% sure on spending this much for something I might get cheeper!

I want to be able to play Star Craft 2 as well as Skyrim on it, as well as it being pretty 'future proof'.
The reason im getting a laptop and not a desktop is because I regulally work abroard for long periods of time, and would like to play these games there too.

Vortex II: 15.6" Glossy Full HD LED Widescreen (1920x1080)
CPU - Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Mobile Processor i7-2860QM (2.50GHz) 8MB

GPU - 2GB AMD® Radeon® HD 6990M - DirectX® 11 (15.6" Vortex II)
HD - 750GB WD SCORPIO BLACK WD7500BPKT, SATA 3 Gb/s, 16MB CACHE (7200 rpm)

That's a decent spec for the price. I'd also consider the MSI GT780DXR and the new Samsung 700G7A, both of these are down on the spec of the one you mention though.

I think I know where it's from, looked at them before ordering an Alienware M18x, quidco were offering 15% discount and 10% EX VAT cashback at the time but think that's dropped to just the 10% cashback.

In fact you could get a very similiar m17x for less if you find the right middle man website. E value codes are the thing to look for and you can combine discounts if you're lucky.

Ocuk have knocked a good amount off the msi 780dxr this week though. So thats definitely worth considering. If its 15" you're after then theres the msi gt683r or asus gw53sx to consider as well.
