They'll definitely work together, and it’s an unlocked processor so you should be okay for overclocking.

yes and yes, but make sure you have a decent air cooler, the stock one isn't much good at all.

Thanks, care to suggest a cooler to get with it ? Would like to spend as little as possible (whilst still being decent quality) and ideally not have it be too massive !

I was under the impression that a high end CPU cooler is needed for anything above 4.2Ghz on an Ivy Bridge?

Depends how much voltage is needed I suppose. Mine needed only 1.17V for 4.5Ghz so temp is a non issue with a decent air cooler, I might just be really lucky though.

The cooler attaches the fan via rubber mounts. Will be easier to mount than wire clips some heatsink use for the fans and less vibration so quieter too

The GB Z77M-D3H (The mATX one) also has no vcore adjustment......just an FYI for future reference. The Z77MX-D3H would be the preferable mATX option.

Of course as the OP can use ATX this doesn't matter, just a word to the wise

you can adjust the voltages on the g45

g43 is locked.

i think the g45 is locked via the bios but using software like the msi control centre allows you to do what you like.
