Hi

I just bought Z87I-PRO from OCuk, but didn't buy a CPU yet.
I was planing to get a 4670k/4770k but I read here on forums that it's a lottery, sometimes you may get a chip which hardly overclocks and is very unstable.
I also heard that Xeons can be good for gaming, but can't be overclocked much. That's ok with me. I just want a good CPU which will serve me for next few years and new 1150 Xeon are in same price range as 4670k/4770k.
I can get one from USA with no problem, but question is:
Is it going to work with a Mini-ITX motherboard?
It does support a 22nm cpu's however Z87I-PRO description only shows 4th generation i7s/i5s and i3s. There is no word about Xeon.
Anybody knows if its going to work on my board?

Thanks in advance

BH

The lottery that people speak off is only in relation to serious overclocking potential/capability. (4.4GHz+)

If you dont plan to overclock much, a 4770k will be fine for a moderate clock.

Well, I am not planing to overclock anything until Star Citizen is still in development.
But when it comes out, all hells break loose and I will need the top of the tops when it comes to CPU, GPU and RAM performance (in a small form factor :P )

I think I got my reply :)
I asked everywhere, I think and nobody can give me a straight answer.
So I will just stick with i5-4670K and hope I will get a good chip :)
