Hi all, just picked up a couple of DDCs on the MM, both with the XSPC res top (this design: )
I tested both using a pipe connecting from the outlet (bottom side), straight back into the inlet (top) ports, and noticed that when I apply power, it takes a few seconds for them to start to spin (not sure if this is dependant on PSU quality: this was on my pump testing PSU, which was pulled from a pentium 4 era, office grade dell, and has a paperclip bridging the 24pin to make it turn on whenever plugged in!)
the bit I'm more concerned by is the apparent play in the impellers:
when unpowered, the impeller sits flat - as near to parralel to the base of the pump as you could tell with the naked eye. When the pump starts, (after the 2 or so second delay,) the impeller aligns itself to be parrallel to the outlet pipe (I'd estimate this to be around 5-8 degrees tilt from it's resting position, one pump is marginally more susceptable to this tilting than the other)
the one that tilts more also seems to exhibit slightly more noise than the other as well, although this could just be that I didn't do as good a job of eliminating air from it before I started it!
I hope someone can weigh in on this quickly for me, as I have postponed leaving trust feedback until I am sure the items are in as good condition as described! Many thanks to anyone willing to spare a few helpful words to this DDC noob! (I currently have an XSPC 450 res/pump, which is doing just fine, but I wanted to prepare to add GPUs in a month or 2!)
