Is this normal for a brand new cpu

But surely as Amazon are despatching the item then they are the ones that are not checking returns correctly and hence these cpus are going back into their stock and then people are receiving the fakes? I don't believe Amazon have a specific pool of components for all their traders it all just goes from the same pool. So if Amazon are shipping stuff out, allowing people to RMA goods but not check that they are not what were sent then they will be the ones that lose money in the end..

If they lose money, it's probably just an accepted loss they soak up rather than spending money on giving training for extra checks. Would probably mean each department gets its own return department, which would probably cost more.

This is just stock that has been given to Amazon to handle. I could as a retailer give them lots of empty boxes.

Amazon hasn't necessarily handled the return.

As someone who has sold through Amazon, they don't need to handle at all. They provide their packaging and arrange pickup from you to make the delivery. You pack it and dispatch it via Amazon who takes a cut for handling the pickup and your paying for their name basically.

It used to be like that anyways. I assume it hasn't changed much.
