Hi all,

Bought an iiyama XB2783HSU as a secondary monitor for media and for console gaming. Generally pretty happy with it although it seems I have some light bleed on the left of the monitor.

Here's a picture.

Obviously you can see some gamma shift on the screen but I think the left side has more than that.

Is that normal?

Thanks.

I doubt you can even notice that during normal use. Looks perfect to me. You'll always have some kind of problems in the corners, that's not bleed, it's just the bezel doing its job of keeping the panel in place.

I actually haven't captured the picture very well, I just sat playing my PS4 and there's a very noticeably glow coming from the bottom left hand side of the panel. I asked my friend who is not really hugely techy if he could see anything wrong and he spotted it right away.

It's not a dealbreaker, I'm going to get one replacement and if the other one is the same I'd probably just keep it.

EDIT:

Here's a picture. :

Dude if that's worth a replacement for you I may only suggest you to never buy an IPS.

Just what I was thinking so have a look in the Acer Predator thread for BLB :)

Those pics look pretty good to me having seen a few similar pics.

Here's my 40" VA vs 34" X34 IPS and the BLB in normal use/light doesn't bother me on the X34 though it bes used with a very low brightness setting.

Having said that if you're looking for every time you use the monitor then it'll bother you!

It's sad, but the way monitors are these days the OP's is not actually too bad.

Hate myself for even saying that. The quality control of all monitors these days, whether £200 or £1000 has nosedived through the floor. It's a lottery buying a new screen and Very annoying.

Yeah I actually have an X34 which of course has much worse glow/bleed than the VA panel did. However what I was having was definitely not bleed or gamma shift.

The bottom left corner had like a halo-y shine to it that was bright no matter what was being displayed on screen - even colours like red and orange it was apparent on.

The bottom right hand corner was fine.

If you gently squeeze the case between you fingers does it change the effect. My VA panel above was commonly improved by adjusting the rear case screws but it was a fairly cheap imported display so I had no qualms adjusting it.

The X34 BLB can be improved by very gently applying pressure to the offending corner but I'm not taking mine apart for quite a while yet :)

So a lot of these issues can be down to the screen fitment in the case which probably does vary a bit between each unit.

You might find applying pressure to the edge changes the effect. I've adjusted the rear case screws in the VA panel pictured above which is a known fix on the owner forum. The X34 can temporarily improved by very gently running your thumb over the offending area but I'm not brave enough to take that screen apart just yet for a more permanent fix!
