Hi,

I have a 20" Samsung monitor - But it doesn't turn off when my PC turn's off? the big blue light at the bottom just flashes.

is this normal? or is there a feature I need to turn on or off in the OSD etc..?

My old LG - used to turn off automatically - when the PC was off.

Thanks

it still has power to it, so i guess it would still light up. My generic 22" stays illuminated, it doesn't flash though. But that's probably the Sammys way of saying 'no signal'

If the screen panel itself is off (not just a black screen but actually off) then the blue flashing light just indicates standby mode. Press it and the low power mode becomes no power mode. Simple.

Yah - In order for me to turn off the blue flashing - I have to turn in 'off' from the 'on/off' switch - Which is a pain, as it's on the side of the monitor.

I would like it - So that it turns off by itself - When the PC turns off - is that possible?

i would imagine thats only possible if your pc's psu has a female power socket which feeds your monitor.

aah! - Good idea!

I guess that would cut the power 'fully' to the monitor....

But then - I'd still probably have to Turn it 'on' again - DAMN! :(

I just want it to be like my old LG - Turn's on and off by itself! - lol

If you 'did' have the monitor powered by the pc, then without touching the monitors on'off button, it should jsut power up and down with the pc.
You'd need to check that, as some devices just have dumb on/off switches regardless of its last power state.

Sadly they don't seem to make PSUs with a peripheral power socket anymore. Least none of the quality desktop PSUs seem to support this anymore. You may be able to configure the monitor to power off when it hasn't seen a signal for a couple of minutes via it's menus though.

it's a standby reminder telling you to hit the switch it's a good feature imo why leave it on standby
