My pc takes an age to load XP.
I think theres about 15 revolutions of the blue bar on the XP load screen.
It is fairly annoying as I believe I have seriously fast PC.
I remember the first time I booted this install, the blue bar didn't even do one full revolution before XP welcomed me :)

Setup:
Opty 165@FX60
WD Caviar 250gb SATA2
2x512mb BH-5@193mhz 2-2-2-6
ASUS A8N-E bios 1104 (latest)

I was thinking of reinstalling, is it worth it?

Before you try a re-format, try defragging your hard drives, removing all non-essential start-up apps and devices from loading (using Start>Run>"msconfig").

Also, you might want to try this little tool I got from the Microsoft Developers Website (unfortunately no longer available for download from MS), BootVis (Hosted on my webserver, so link should work).

Extract the single exe file to wherever and run it. When it loads, click on the "Trace" menu, then onto "optimize system" option. This will then restart your PC, and upon re-boot will watch all system start-up procedures and place all files into a more optimized location on the disk.

Brought my boot time "number of bars" from 15, to 4.
