My ram is 1600mhz but it says 500 on the validate on CPU-Z

You need to double the number CPU-z gives you. But that still is not running @ the right speed.

I purchased this computer from overclockers and it said "ram tightly set to 1600mhz.

Go into the BIOS ands check what it says on the ram.

isn't that overclocking? and isn't it dangerous as ram can actually set alight

You are not overclocking it you are just setting it to what it should be.

as it's at 5.333

How do I find out that it was meant to be 1600mhz I'm pretty sure when I purchased it 2 years ago it was 1600mhz bought it in a bundle on a overclockers computer.

Increase the multiplier in BIOS to make the ram run 1600mhz.

Just over 7, ideally.

Yes it will be safe, the motherboard defaults the ram to the standard DDR3 speed, you will need to manually adjust, I have done this on past systems, and my current one which I built last week.

You will need to speak to Overclockers regard this, was the cpu suppose to be overclocked as well?
