Normally I park my car off the road, in a small car park behind my flat at Uni, but I'm back at my parents place for the holidays, so I have to park it on the road. I gave my car a good clean on Sunday morning (and it was actually clean, I checked!), and by the time I went back out to it on Monday (having not driven it since washing), it was caked in dust etc.

Is this normal when leaving the car parked on the side of the road? Is it just dust being thrown around by passing cars, or might it be the "dust & pollution" that's meant to be being blown over us at the moment?

That's what I was wondering, just with it being the first time I've actually parked a car on the side of the road, I wanted some other people's experiences on if it's normal (and I should get used to it) or if it's just because of the stuff passing over the UK at the moment, and it'll be fine again in a few days.

Just the dirty rain. Not washed my car for about 6 months. This last week it's looking 10 times worse than normal

Every day I am washing my car to get the sand off and every night it rains sand on it. I have given up now.

Yea, I did consider re-doing it on Monday or Tuesday, but then I figured chances are it's just going to happen again, so not much point. Might give it a wash again this weekend though, if it gets a bit better.
