hey hope someone can help,

i am trying to build a budget (£250 max) computer thats going to be able to play most games.

got a few silly questions:

Do i need a card that supports directx 11? is there a big performance improvement?

i havent included the case and screen cos i am just going to use old ones, is this ok?

EDIT: tbh, for the extra fiver I'd double up the HDD to 500GB like RJC has done.
 
Don't get the HD5450, its an awful card, I was given the one I'm using right now. It's OK for media use but don't expect to play any games on it!

yeah i forgot to mention that i need two harddrives for one for this computer and another for and older computer that the hard drives is messing up with.

why is the motherboard better?
 
yeah i want sure about the psu and the graphics card what things should i be looking out for? for the graphics card? whats that 5450 lacking?
 
Not really, unless you look at the 2nd hand market like that auction website.

Can you not get another drive next month or wait until funds are slightly better?
 
yeah i could use an older hard drive for the other system as it is a bit slower and doesnt need much performance wise. but the problem is i dont like giving people older computer parts especially hard drives.
 
i got another question. should i just start a new post? - the other computer is a Shuttle K45 Mini and i was looking for a way of cooling it properly without making a stupidly loud noise with the defualt intel 775 cpu cooler. what fan is going to fit or can i get a varable speed fan for the out side?
