hey guys i made a post earlier but im still thinking about changing a few things in the pc specs you came up with.

Is this ok to run bad company 2 etc on high settings? will be running on a 1440x900 monitor!

Corsair VX CMPSU-550VXUK 550W Power Supply (PSU)
Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H AMD 880G (Socket AM3) microATX DDR3 Motherboard (can i save any money here or stick with this?)
HAF 912 case or coolermaster scout ( i really like the 922 but for the extra £20 i dont see any huge improvements against the 912, as i said im a first time builder dont require lots of hdds or anything)
Phenom x4 955 Cpu (can i go with athlon? or do you reccomend i stay with phenom?)
Asus GeForce GTX 460 Direct CU TOP 768MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (The thing im getting confused with on this is that it require 2 6pin connections?, does this psu work with this gfx?, should i stay with nvidia or go ATI?
Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz

As for OS my friend has covered that, Optical drive i have and i have a 1tb hdd all set and ready to drop in.

Does this seem a decent spec for running games on med to high settings at 1440x900?

thanks guys getting very confused with this :s

Asus GeForce GTX 460 Direct CU TOP 768MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (The thing im getting confused with on this is that it require 2 6pin connections?,

I got the same Card and if your PSU dont come with 2x 6Pin connectors dont worry you get an adaptor in the ASUS box that uses 2x 4 pin Molex conectors to 6 Pin.... I had to use it on my recent rig still works a treat but TBH I wish i'd of gone with a bigger PSU and advise you too...... get nothing smaller than a 650Watt..... Also you may need to check that the PSU you do get can derliver 24 amp to the VGA card..... some PSU's only give 20amp via these conectors....

Builds not too bad

Stick with Phenom as apose to Athlon
Rams Sweet
Case its all about preference and what it looks like but cooling is most important so a good mix.
I got the Coolermaster 430 Elite see it here http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-214-CM

Good price too... I got mine with the 500Watt PSU included for a it extra but like i said wish i haddn't now it is a good one but not quite good enough for what i wanted, I will be replacing it soon and will just keep it aside for a spare

hope all this helps....

does that psu have 2x 6/8 connectors for the gfx?

yes.
