I made a thread the other night regarding what i was gonna buy, but i didnt order it all, i changed my mind on things and have now come up with something else.

Anyway... Due to me knowledge being as old as my xp2500, i wanna make sure everything is good.

Already en route is.

Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 1.86ghz Socket 775 FSB800 2MB Cache Retail Boxed Processor

and

Point Of View 8800GTS 320MB DVI HDCP PCI-E Graphics Card

So they cant be changed now.

What im ordering to couple with them is...

Asus P5N-E SLI 650i Socket 775 Onboard Audio ATX
2GB kit (1GBx2), Ballistix 240-pin DIMM, DDR2 PC2-5300 memory module

The motherboard was chosen because its good for my tight budget i think (around £73). And the ram seems to be spoken well of.

Can people verify this, because i really hate ordering things when i dunno what im doing lol

They would work fine together. What sort of PSU have you got? You will probably need a new one, what are the existing components you are gonna re-use?

PSU is a Tagan 480w

its pretty old, and its actually broke lol, but should be getting the RMA back from it this week.

So its this PSU Here

Hopefully it will be ok for now, because ive pretty much made myself broke here

i would change the motherboard to a DS3P if you plan on not getting SLI, but if you plan on getting sli then get the one you suggested.

I liked the option of SLi , but it wasnt really a deciding factor. I ordered the one i mentioned anyway, seems ok for £66.42 delivered.

my budget is mega tight, and ive used asus in the past and it was a good board. Hopefully i will be able to overclock slightly and have a stable successful build!

Ordered the ballistix ram too, that was 75inc vat and delivery.

fingers crossed all goes well
