Right everything is pretty much set on my build and this is the psu i have budgeted for:

I had an msi 770 lightning in the build but as the prices have been slashed i can stretch to an amd 7990? :confused:

TBH im not sure what power rating a top gpu needs as what i have read on here and what i read in magazines usually differ, i will get round to giving it a mild overclock once up and running.
 
Cheers lads this was the problem i found though i had a chap spec me a full modular beast that was £129.99 its not a prob spending the money if i actually need to.

That was one link. There are several more. And all show the 7990 to draw close to 400w on its own.

This link shows the total power draw of a system with a 7990 to be between 550w and 573w.

This link shows it to be 491w

This one shows total power consumption to be between 550w and 570w.

Are you really going to recommend a power supply, good though the brand undoubtedly is, that has so little juice left over?

The one in my spec obviously has the juice then but does it matter that its only a bronze and not a gold/platinum rating?
