Hi all, Need some help / advise please.

....is it possible to connect up a BT Phone through a Network port..?

i.e. - My friend has a Network port near his Sky box - but not a BT Phone Socket.

So we'd like to connect the Phone line for the Sky box into the Network port.... and then wire the other end of the Network into a BT Phone socket...

Thanks

YEs you can, I've done/doing it also while using the network side.

Cut off the ends and split the 4 pairs into 2, one for phone and one for internet (if you want to use it). You can buy the plastic phone ends from wilkensons for £1 which you place 4 wires into and clamp the metal teeth down which seals it and the other end wire (sky end) into a 60p phone junction box.

If you wanted the ethernet to work also the ends are ~50p and you can buy a tool (or bodge it) for £5. it will run @ 100mbps but you have to have the wires in certain (can look later if you wanted) pins as all 8 wont be there.

ok - This sounds good - But I'd rather not do a cut and shut job... Surely there is adapter / plugs / dongles available to do this... I just don't know which one's I need - lol
