Is this possible DVD to CD?

Was just wondering if its possible to record the sound from a concert DVD onto an ordinary CD disc so it can then be played in a car. As in no pictures just the sound, but I am wanting the whole concert to just run in its entirety in my car.
DVD's wont work in cars with just the sound will they?
Please excuse my stupidity on this.

Im sure there will be a way to extract the sound from a dvd, ill have a look around to see if I can find any tutorials etc. Im not sure on the legality of it though...

Google finds loads of software for it, there should be 1 thats free.

i use a program called imtoo dvd audio ripper

Done this several times with Queen, Pink Floyd and others.

Shame that it's illegal.

Shouldn't really be illegal when you're ripping it from your legally owned DVD.

You're still ripping content from a protected dvd.

You're having to break or avoid the copy protection - which is illegal.

I know it's stupid but...*sigh*
