Is this possible? HH5 and EE Brightbox

I've been trying this today and I'm not sure it is.

I've been given an EE Brightbox router and will use this as a 2nd access point upstairs (currently use a BT HH5 to do this). I have my main HH5 router downstairs that handles all DHCP and is where the connection comes into. I then have this connected via Ethernet to the 2nd EE router upstairs.

I plan to replace the 2nd HH5 with the EE router due to being able to create a guest network by creating a 2nd SSID and 2nd VLAN within the EE router settings which will be 192.168.2.x. My main HH5 router settings are 192.168.1.x.

However I have encountered a problem as the 2nd SSID and VLAN doesn't have an Internet connection. I can connect to it fine but not view web pages etc. Is this problem caused by the fact that the EE router isn't connected to the Internet directly? If so, is there a way to solve this without using the EE router as the main router?

Thanks.

Nothing you describe appears to involve VLANs. I seriously doubt any of the kit you're using will have VLAN support.

Does the EE Brightbox have an Ethernet WAN port? If it's the router a quick Google found then it doesn't appear to.

Without an Ethernet WAN port what you're wanting to do with a guest network isn't going to work. You can add it as an additional access point but won't get an isolation between the guest wireless and the rest of the network.

Sorry, it's relatively new to me so some of my terminology may be wrong. I'm using the Bright Box 2 and not the Bright Box as I had mentioned before. This one does have a WAN port on it. I have also followed this guide that shows it to be possible.

I have it set up as an extra access point in the same way my 2nd HH5 was but the EE Bright Box 2 offers the extra feature I want to take advantage of and not give access to my network for guests. If I connect my main HH5 to the EE Bright Box via the WAN port, would it work for the guest network? I'll have to try this later.

I tried connecting via the WAN port from both routers and also one each but still I cannot get an Internet connection on the 2nd VLAN and SSID. I can however connect to it and obtain and IP address using DHCP on the 2nd VLAN and SSID from the Bright Box 2.
