Is this possible - music through speakers whilst playing a game over VR?

Hi all,

Wasn't sure where to post this for most chance of getting answers so picked here.

Is it possible for me to play music through my PC speakers, whilst playing a racing sim game on virtual reality and hearing the game sound through the headset only?

TLDR - different sound sources routed through different speakers all from one PC?

What OS are you using? - On W10 you can switch a specific app to play on a specific output, just right click on the sound icon and go to 'advanced sound settings', I do this a lot when playing games on my monitor, as my primary sound output is usually my TV

Or depending on the music app and/or game, you may be able to specify the sound output directly in the settings
