I need to keep the 7800N where it is, but I want to connect up the TV to the network.

Cat5e direct isn't really an option.

I've got a spare old WRT54GL, is there a way of getting this to receive wireless signal from the 7800N and transfer that through the ethernet switch that the WRT54GL has to the TV?

My WRT has Tomato firmware on it

Pretty sure Tomato will support wireless bridging.

Blat the WRT config to default.

Set the WRT LAN up on the same subnet but with a different IP, use your 7800 IP address if it wants a DNS/gateway.

Disable DHCP, Firewall/Nat and any other services like this.

Set Wireless Mode to Access Point, configure wireless settings for your existing 7800 provided Wireless.

Plug TV into WRT over ethernet.

Job done, transparent wireless AP.

Hmm, sounds easy as pie, I'll give it a shot now

My Billion IP is .254, I'll set the WRT to .253 yes? (outside the DHCP range of the Billion)
