Anyone know of a way to add an emergency contact form to a web page that will send a message to a mobile phone via sms? Ideally without showing the sender the reciever's number.

You need some sort of SMS gateway. A lot of networks provide email > sms.. Depends on which provider you want to send the sms to.

I use www.kapow.co.uk for a few websites I run as an SMS gateway. It's very easy to setup - you just POST to a specific php page on their server.
