Hey guys.

First post in this forum so go easy. I may be being completly unrealistic here but is this possible?

I have a laptop as my main computer and a desktop that is now going to be placed under my new TV.

I would like to not have to have a keyboard/mouse connected to the desktop that is going under the TV and I am wondering if I can control it through a VPN sort of software?

However I don't want to keep having to send invitations for remote assistance as I will need to have a keyboard attached to be able to do this.

So is there any software that I can run on the desktop to let the laptop control it without having to load something each time? Some software that loads at startup or something.

Both are connected to my wireless network so I think I am only looking for some software to make this possible?

Amd I dreaming or can this be done?

Yes, I know, but you'd have to look at the laptop screen when controlling it if you see what I mean.

Nope, incorrect.

VNC allows the client/listener to view the servers screen on the clients machine.

Thats the whole point in remoting in ;)

I know what VNC does, I use it all the time :p

I think I've misinterpreted what the OP wanted - I read that as he was connecting the desktop PC to the TV and wanted to control it with his laptop rather than a keyboard/mouse.

If he was wanting to do that, VNC wouldn't be (that) much use, it's fairly laggy, especially over wireless.

Yea, I tried VNC and it is indeed laggy and annoying. I have actually just posted a post asking if anyone knows of a small keyboard that includes a mouse.

The post is here if anyone can help.
