Like many more folks I downloaded & occasionally used the free edition of windows 10 this was from the free upgrade, from the Windows 7 Pro retail version.

However I frequently reverted back to Windows 7. I've upgraded my PC of late & would like to give Windows 10 another try.

However I notice that Windows 10 has been hugely updated since the free version was created.

If I install windows 10 & update to the current version is it possible from within Windows 10 itself, to create a new & up to date installation DVD or USB

Thanks wakadoo

Does media creation tool need to be created from within Windows 10? As I'm currently running Windows 7.

& BTW would I still not require a serial key as in the original version of Win 10 I've currently got.

Thanks ~>Dg<~ In which case I'd better install my prior download first since I fitted a new Mobo, CPU, Memory bundle just before Christmas & I haven't install Win 10 since before then, it was a telephone jobbie to get Win 7 activated TBH

Many Thanks

I'm on it after this has been posted. :)

media creation tool will make you an up to date install disk/usb drive from any windows pc.

and yes, it will do what you are asking.

Thanks wakadoo that media creation tool is 100% brilliant, I've created both USB & DVD installation media.
I've run into a big problem though, Windows 10 doesn't seem to like my sound card, an Asus D2X + Logitech dts digital sound system at a guess around £380s worth, until I can find viable a solution I've had to go back to using Windows 7.

Thanks Orcvader I've got a spare SSD I'll reload Win10 on it & try those drivers.

To answer the question fully, the disk loads the software alright but the default speakers are 2.1 which I need to change to get sound with 5.1 the option for loading 5.1 isn't there, in fact the option for loading 2.1 isn't there either, thus so far, its a thumbs down for Asus ATM from me.
There's probably better about now but, I still believe this to be a great bit of kit in Win 7.
