Is this PSU good enough?

Well these benchmarks as well as every other I've seen beg to differ.
ATi 5770@1280x1024 DX11, 4xAA, 16xAF - minimum frames 33 - average frames 37.5, I'm afraid that's barely playable for me tbh expecially at that resolution,
bear in mind this is one of the first DX11 titles and it doesn't really bode well ;)

At the end of the day the 5770 is to DX11 what the 8600GTS was to DX10,
It is a DX11 card that will struggle to play DX11 games, just like the 8600GTS was a DX10 card that struggled it's bag off to run DX10 games.

Fair enough if you want to run your games at uber low resolutions then I'm sure it'll be just fine, but it just won't cut it at anything above 1680x1050.

It's barely playable for you...fair enough. For me I'm not using my PC for overly intense gameplay, it's perfectly fit for purpose for me. I play most of my games on consoles.

My monitor only goes up to 1440x900 and I don't really care for benchmarks.

I wouldn't really call 1440x900 "Uber low" as you put it. I wouldn't really call it 'struggling' to play dirt 2 at my resolution with maxxed out settings. It runs smoothly on my system with my resolution quite nicely.

At the end of the day it's his PC and I'm sure it'll be fine for what he choses to use it for. Just don't use the thread to slam people's choices, or to belittle others.

Later on down the line I will upgrade, when I have more funds to justify it along with my monitor, but until then, I have a fairly decent spec that does it's job for me.

It's a good thing my monitor doesn't go up to those kinds of resolutions then isn't it ;)

Wasn't trying to do this, was just trying to give the op the facts, which afterall was what he/she was after was it not

It would actually be more beneficial if we knew what resolution the op was intending to game at.

well, ive got a full HDTV (22" or 23" cant remember) tht i was goin to use as my monitor. but i dont hav the money to buy a £200 graphics card as im a student @ uni and this is my xmas present and i hav a budget of £600 which i could chip in £10 or £20 if needs be

In that case go for the 4890, it'll be money well spent and gives good performances across many games at quite high resolutions.

I'm sure you won't be disappointed :)
