Going to be building this little lot soon, but I think the PSU may just be a bit of an overkill

Would the Corsair 620W happily run all this or should I stick with the Enermax, bearing in mind I will be overclocking this beasty??

Cheers

If you have the money, get the 850w, but the corsair would handle it if you want to save some money.

Money aint really an object, I priced everything up based on getting the Enermax, but have since heard multiple good reviews/comments about the Corsair's :)

Would the 620W Corsair handle SLI, if I was to get a second GTX sometime in the future? Or would I be safer going with the Enermax - on the off chance that I do go SLI at a later date?

The Corsair HX620 would easily handly 8800GTX SLi and still leave a little bit of room.

It's an amazing PSU for £100.

Just playing devils advocate... While I agree with the others that the Enermax 850 is overkill, and the Corsair 620, (or Seasonic 600w) PSU's are more than up to the job...

PSU's do lose some capacity as they age, and modern PSU's are getting much wider efficiency bands, so that big 850W PSU, will likely be perfectly happy and 85% efficient from 100W or so, all the way up to 700+. So its certainly not going to burn excess power etc.

And it will have so much power in reserve that even factoring in capacitor aging, its going to have a very easy life driving most high end rigs.

Even so... I'd probably just get the Corsair, or Seasonic PSU's.
