I have 4x1gb sticks of memory in my pc and altho the bios and cpuz says there is 4gb of ram, windows system properties says theres only 3gig, is this because im on windows XPsp2 and i need windows vista?

You need either x64 XP or x64 Vista (or even x64 linux) to use all 4gb.

Yes.

The 32bit versions only allow you to use ~3gb.

OK thx man, i now have vista ultimate 64 installed and its fine
