Hey,

I've came here to the memory section to see if any resident experts know of my RAM is OK.

I've just built my rig, and made another thread asking a few questions. One was about CMOS settings (which I was getting told were wrong when I first booted up the PC)

I own the GeIL 2x1GB Ultra Low Latency C4 800MHz set from OCUK.

I have no idea if this will help you or not, but I've been told it may be the voltage or something?

Here is a screenshot:

Thanks for any and all help!

What CPU are you running?

The FSB is running at 200Mhz.. If the ratio is set to 2/3 then 300MHz (600Mhz effective) is correct.

You could set the ratio to 1/2 to run the memory at 800MHz.. although you can select the memory speed.

Is it the timings that concern you?

And what's concerning me is that my RAM may not be giving me it's full potential, if you know what I mean.

I was concerned at first because I was getting "Incorrect CMOS Settings" when I first booted up my rig, but after I installed Windows XP, it vanished.

I done a Memory benchmark on everest. It says my timings at the moment are:

5-5-5-18 CR2

Change the ratio to 1/2 or DDR2-800 in the BIOS.. This will run your memory asyncronously at the 800MHz.

The incorrect CMOS setting message normally appears if the CMOS has been reset or used for the first time. The BIOS will configure itself on first boot to the safest settings or by SPD (Auto).. It's up to you after that to tweak or change any settings. In your case, you need to change the DRAM frequency to get the best from your PC2-6400 RAM. :)
