Ive just installed my new soundcard, creative audigy SE, cheap but seems a lot better than onboard. The drivers are installed and onboard is now disabled in the bios. When i goto device manager, under sound. video and game controllers. SB Audigy is showing up there. But so is NVIDIA High def audio 8 times. Just wondering if i should disable those 8? or am i ok to leave them

Your ok to leave them. This will be the audio output built into your 460. If you wanted to output audio through HDMI to your telly for example.

As long as the audio is coming through your speakers, and there plugged into the sound card then it's all fine and dandy. No need to disable it in BIOS either. Although it wont do any harm.

ok cheers mate. i have 2 460's so i thought maybe the audio was coming from them. thanks.

It would only come from them if you have them hooked up to an HDMI source with an HDMI cable and the HDMI source, i.e. the monitor or telly had speakers. If using DVI or VGA, it wont carry any audio at all.

You can select your desired default sound device in the control panel, under sounds. You will see the list, just select it, and set to default. You can also configure the audio here for 5.1 etc.
