Hi,

Not sure if this should go here or in 'Windows & Other Software', but I feel its more relevant here :)

I just got a Sony laptop, and I have to say the amount of programs that come pre-installed is atrocious (sp?).

Is it safe to install a fresh copy of Vista, then just install the needed drivers (things like built-in webcam, touchpad, etc) for things to work (presume these can be downloaded from Sony's website)?

Cheers

do you have your recovery discs or partition? if so if should be fine to do so and also download the drivers needed then save them to a seperate storage device first

Just an update: formatted fine, installed a fresh copy of Vista and installed some drivers for various things and it seems to be fine (and a lot faster!) :)

Just a small problem with the graphics card (can't find the drivers for it, the ones that they provide are for 32bit, not 64bit) but I can live without that for a bit :)
