Hey guys, I have been reading this forum for a while and have some questions about the following build:

Intel Core i5 6600K
MSI Z170A Gaming M5
MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming Edition
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO*
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-21300C16 2666MHz*
Samsung 850 Evo SSD Series 250GB SATA3
Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 1TB 64MB
EVGA SuperNOVA 650W G2 80Plus Gold*
NZXT H440 New 2015 Edition Case - Matte Black & Red
BenQ XL2411Z 24" LED 144Hz

- Is motherboard too much? I was trying to decide between M5 and MSI Z170 GAMING PRO
- Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO or Noctua NH-D14 for a non-aggressive OC?
- Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB or G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series (2x8GB, 2666 Mhz)? Is it worth it to jump to 3200Mhz?
- is 650W required? I coulnd't find SuperNOVA 550W, so an alternative will be Super Flower Leadex 80 Plus Gold 550W

Thanks for your time :)

I've been researching a similar build for some time. Looks pretty balanced to me.

Motherboard might be overkill. Personally I'd step down to the Gaming Pro and invest the money saved in a larger SSD (you'll soon fill up 250GB if you want apps and games as well as your OS installed on it).

I don't think the jump to 3200 Mhz RAM is worth the extra. Performance gains are negligible in this sort of build.

Noctua coolers are great, but the NH-D14 might be more than you need if you're not doing heavy OC. Perhaps have a look at the Noctua NH-U12S.

I'd stick with 650W, it gives you a bit of overhead. 750W woudn't be overkill on such a build and would give you the option of SLI if you wished.
