For what?

It looks fairly well researched, but it's pretty critical that you tell us what you're going to be using it for before we can say if its the best choice

Bath for the win

PSU a bit overkill (A 600/650W would be fine) other than that, it looks fine. But what do you want the system do to?

Thanks for all the responses ! 
I am thinking of this because of the following
1. Better Firefox performance (been a major issue with my Fedora 10 !)
2. To replace my PC which is about 4 years old
3. Fancy a new i7,
4. Try my hand at OCing
5. Gaming (pretty new to this)
6. I am a lecturer so last but not least to keep all my OC mad students happy !

Think I will go for a better DVD RW as xJcBx suggested 

If its going to be used for gaming id spend the extra £15 and get this. unless your going sli/crossfire route that PSU is way more than needed, this would be more than enough.

I agree with DireEmblem, a 4890 would work better. But thats might just be me because I prefer them to Nvidia :D
If you could budget this as well as a BluRay player it would be ace.
And have you looked at aftermarket coolers for your i7 if you want to overclock?

I am researching 4890 now
Assumed the 200 mm fans on the Coolermaster HAF 922 would do the job, guess I will have to think of a cooler.

I wasn’t sure about the PSU, thought 850 might not be enough ? for this rig
And was looking at the upgrade potential …

I use a 620W for GTX260 SLI, but with a Q6600. I would drop down to 750W and that'll still give you enough room to add another GPU at a later date if you choose :)

LOL

Sorry I am a bit lost when it comes to coolers :) , for this reason would it be a good idea for me to go for water cooling ? wouldn’t air cooling suffice ?
