A friend of mine has seen a system from our local computer shop for £2000.
The spec is

Athlon 4800x2 dual core cpu
4gb of ram
4x400 gig hard drives-ides
onboard 7.1 sound
ati x1900xt vivo 512mb pci graphics card
7 usb ports
2 firewire
no monitor and extra £100 for operating system

I`m not sure what motherboard it has in,or the case
I think it will have the cheapest ram which is £60 per gig

Just wondered if you guys think it`s worth £2000
Thanks
Steve

IMO, no,

a 4400,overclocked with good quality ram and who the hell needs 4gb ram? and 4x 400gb hd?

I would just get a raptor, and 1 300gb hd for storage.

Also, you could also fit a 2405fpw too. and a operating system.

Tell him to build his own.Why would he need 4GB of ram 4x 400GB IDE HDDs  ? Could build a better system if you were to do it yourself & you can pick better quality components etc.

£1660...bit of a rip off in my opinion (no OS, no monitor)

£2000 can get you a VERY good rig, but the above just isn't it!

yup, it's a lot cheaper to build yourself.
Check out my spec, pretty good, not the best but only cost me £700 inc VAT and Delivery ! Not that hard to put together either, any problems with assembling the pc you can always ask on here :)
