Hi

I am off canoing for a week and have a Dome styke tent, havnt really looked at it since I got several years ago (bought for a camping trip that went wrong), but after looking tonight I dont know whether the tent will be good or not.

The tent is single lined, will this be waterproof, it came with a spray thing thats suppost to make it waterproof will this work?

Will it be wind proof?

I tried googling for my tent but could not find it, the name on the wrapping is Outpost Sahara 1.

Thanks

Ahhhh. It would probably be okay for the summer but while it's still cold at night I would invest in a 2 skin tent a decent mummy style sleeping bag.

Yes, the spray stuff does make them waterproof. Most modern tents don't require it anymore though as far as I know.

With all respect, it sounds like the sort you would get from Argos for £30 thus not suitable for what you need.

Do you have a http://www.yeomansoutdoors.co.uk/ near where you live? If you explain what you need, they will point you in the right direction.

Vango (www.vango.co.uk) make some the best tents but are pricey... depends if you going to use it more than once.

I would go for one with a seperate inner as if you roll over and touch the tent in the night on a single skin, it will leak where youve been touching it and as said above, it would help with insulation :)

It is a good idea to "Proof" your tent with Water-proofer at least once every season.
