Is this the correct lens?

I have the Nikon d3300 VR with 18-55mm lens and im looking at expending my kit with the below lens, is the lens correct?

Tamron AF 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di LD Macro 1:2 Nikon+Motor

If so, what size filter do they require?

Yes thats correct and the filter size is 62mm.

Well if you don't mind going used the Tamron 70-300 Di VC USD is significantly better for £174 (link below). Depends on you budget though.
