Im looking to get the patio done and came across a local firm but just saw the below image on their website which the square light block at the bottom doest look right to me but may be a valid reason that its been done like that?

With my limited knowledge I would have thought a full block cut on the angle to match the horizontal would be the way to do it?

Aesthetics really, some would be happy some not. At least if you aren't happy any decent paver will change it at no cost to you. I had a metre square section changed because I wasn't happy, just make sure you haven't paid him.

I think that looks rather good - getting that curve right must have been a pig of a job.

What I would want to do is go and look at some of their work that is a few years old. You want to be checking for it sinking due to a poor base being done.

Note that block paving is not a maintenance free option. Doesn't matter how good a job was done, stuff will start to grow in the joins. We spray ours once or twice a year depending on how prolific the weeds are trying to be. Don't waste your time trying to scrape them out. It is impossible to get at the roots - use a systemic weed killer.

I think it looks fine, but if you wanted the joins to be mitred or something instead i'm sure they could do that.

There's some skill involved in doing it like that, more so than the way you want. I'm sure its just preference and they'll do what you ask.
