Could this be a leaked image of Nintendo's 3DS. Due to be unveiled on Tuesday?

Possible I suppose ... There were photos of the Dev Kit for the 3DS online on the FCC website as it was submitted for preliminary testing. The dev kit did have a standard sized lower screen and a wide top screen.

Nope, no analogue stick and i think the styling will be different from the DS to make it stand out a bit more.

It's supposed to have the power of the Wii (at least). Don't think Sports Resort, think Dead Space: Extraction.

This is a NEW generation of hand helds with new hardware, this is not like just an upgrade like the Ds lite, think gameboy to gameboy advance

Yes, it's not replacing the DSi. That will continue as a separate product.

Ahh okay. I thought it was just a DS Lite with 3D screens. For all intents and purposes this is the first 8th generation handheld then. If it gives out Wii quality graphics then I'll be very impressed.

It's also meant to be fully compatible with DS games so I can at least understand the similarities (same kind of design, 4:3 touchscreen etc.) but it does look a little too blurry pic

That mock looks pretty nice, I like the clean lines. I have no interest at all in the DS and never really have, I'm more of a PSP fan, but I have to say, I've just done a bit of reading up on the little information that is out there about the 3DS and it sounds pretty good. Glad I've only really caught up with it now because it means I only have to wait a couple of days for Nintendo to release some more info at E3. One thing I would question though is that it should probably have two cameras as it's been stated to be fully backward compatible and it can't be if it can't play DSi specific games.

You're right. You'd think Nintendo would have learnt after the DS tanked against the graphically superior PSP.

In theory, but Nintendo aren't know for keeping track hardware advancements numerically.

I'm looking forward to this, i've owned a lot of handhelds over the years but my DS has probably seen more use than the lot of them.
