Is this the sensible thing to do?

I really want PES6 but I don't have a console to play it on.

I'm having trouble deciding whether to get a 360 or a PS2 (stupidly sold my PS2 a few months back thikning I wouldn't use it).

The way I see it is, on Gamestation I can get a PS2, additional controller and PES6 for £115. Or I can get the 360 premium with an additional controller and PES6 for £310. But then I'd probably need a charging thing and god knows what else to get it working on the network...

I'm not a big gamer and doubt I'd use live really, but when looking at the core packages it seems worthwhile to just get the premium.

Being a student though, £310 is quite a lot and I only really want PES6 to play with 'the lads' etc. So I think I'm gonna get it with the PS2.

There's no games I've seen around that I fancy the 360 anyway, so although it would be nice to have a 360, I don't really need it.

Does that sound about right? Indecisiveness before shopping is bad. :(

If you haven't got an HDTV then probably go with the PS2 version.

Why?

I have a friend that uses a regular TV, and the 360 looks great on it. Or he could use his PC monitor instead.

I say the 360, its the newer console, and there is bound to be more games on it that you want eventually (like Gears Of War, Fable 2 and whatever). Plus that way you can play Pro Evo on Live. Look at the thread on Pro Evo for the 360, I HATE football, and with all the fun those guys are having even I am tempted to get the damn game :/

It's probably the sensible thing to do but that doesn't mean it's the right thing to do ;)

Option 3 - The PC version, its even cheaper than the console versions!!

You'd be mad not to - £18 vs £110 vs £310!!

option 4

save loads of cash, get a cheap 2nd hand console with pads+ memory card from our Members Market... easily done, good value... play PRO EVO

it is better on the PS2 imo than the PC>

Imo, get the 360 pack. Just use rechargable batteries and make sure your 360 is near your router etc. You won't need to buy anything else and you'll know your ok for PES7 etc. When (if) you do get a HD set in 1 or 2 years time you'll be set.

Having been into Game today, I can safely say that the Xbox360 version doesn't look significantly better than the PS2 version. And seeing as the PS2 has a better pad (for PES) and more content (I believe) I'd go for that version.

You could have course hook your PC up to the TV and get a couple of PS2 pads. :)

Cheers for the replys guys.

Getting it for the PC doesn't really appeal to me.

A second hand PS2 with all the extras still goes for around £60, then I need the game. So I might as well just get it new.

Dark_Angel I looked at that link, but for me, I don't think it's worth it.

On Pro Evo there is the editing and saving benefits for the PS2 too, and I won't have to get used to the new controller.

Many thanks, think I've made my mind up! :p
