Hi - I have an Akasa Eclipse case with AMD 3500+ (single core), 1gb DDR ram, X850 gfx card and a couple of hard discs plus a dvd writer.
I really only use my system to play warcraft, browse the web, watch divx, and listen to music. It performs all of these tasks perfectly. I do a little video editing now and then but its so rare that it doesn't warrant buying a quad core for.
I am now moving to Warhammer. During the beta i have realised my system is just not up to scratch. I was thinking of performing the following upgrades which are intended only to last me until nehelum becomes mainstream (a year or two?). I will be buying the 28" OCUK monitor too later down the line so I want to be prepared to run at 1920x1200 rez. I plan to water cool at some point so for now I will re-use the Zalman flower cooler (120mm) that is on my 3500+.
Can you tell me if any of these are overkill or if I missed anything? Remember I don't play any fps's. Could you suggest alternatives to the overkill parts? Remember - this system only needs to last until Nehelum becomes mainstream.
